Lauren's POV

In a few minutes, Jeff came out of his room holding a laptop I assumed was his. He took a seat across from us and opened the screen, the faint glow lighting up his focused expression.

“Alright, Roman, you guys said you wanted certain information about Lauren’s past, which is it?” Jeff asked as his fingers began typing rapidly across the keyboard.

“We're trying to get information about Ethan Black abandoning his daughter alone in the house before her death,” Roman said.

“I’ve pulled that up once, so that shouldn’t be a problem,” Jeff replied, his full attention fixed on the laptop.

I leaned in a little closer, lowering my voice. “So how long is he going to take?” I whispered to Roman.

“Just give him a few seconds,” Roman replied, sounding fully confident in his friend.
