Lauren's POV
“Amen.”
I said as I ended the prayer, my voice steady even though my mind was still running through everything that had happened today. We all reached for our utensils at the same time, the clinking sound filling the quiet dining room as we began eating slowly. The chef had gone all out — salmon, turkey, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, everything laid out like some kind of holiday feast instead of a simple dinner.
Aria was struggling with her turkey again, poking at it like she was trying to decide whether it was food or a toy. I smiled softly and helped her cut her turkey into smaller bits so it would be easier for her to eat. She gave me one of those innocent smiles that always melted my heart, then went right back to chewing happily.
“How’s the food?” Roman asked me from across the table.
