Chapter 54. Real Actions

My heart skips a beat as he presents me with a box holding a stunning diamond ring.

“Alessia, my beautiful love,” he says, his voice shaking with emotion.

Tears stream down my face as I nod yes, feeling overjoyed and grateful.

The months pass by quickly as we plan for our anniversary, which will be even more extravagant than any that I’ve ever seen before. Riccardo spares no expense in ensuring that everything is perfect for us.

The night before our big day, I stood nervously in front of our hotel suite’s balcony, looking out at the city skyline. But Riccardo sneaks up behind me, holding me tightly.

“Are you nervous?” he asks gently.

I nod, feeling butterflies in my stomach. “A little bit.”

“Don’t be,” he reassures me softly. “As long as we’re together, nothing can ever hurt us.”
