Chapter 30

The Shadow Of The Past

"Are you thinking about something?" asked James Miller casually.

Becky immediately stuttered,

"No, Mr. Miller," she said, cutting up the salmon and stuffing it into her mouth. She closed her eyes, enjoying food when hungry would indeed make the food taste a hundred times more delicious than it should be. She glanced at James's plate and was surprised to find the plate was empty, he even ate the garnish she put on the side of the plate.

In a quite conducive atmosphere, suddenly James's cell phone rang loudly. He glanced at the name that appeared on the screen briefly and then pressed the green button.

"James Miller!" he snapped coldly.

Becky tried to overhear but she couldn't hear the caller at all. James's face hardened, but he still didn't say anything which made Becky even more curious.

Before long, James put down his cell phone while looking deeply at Becky.
