“Eliana, you’ve been in here for too long…”

“And I’ll be in here for as long as I want.” I replied, barely letting him complete his sentence.

In the few hours I had spent locked up in here—my own doing, I still hadn’t managed to calm my anger.

“I know you’re mad at me, I would too but I swear it’s not what you think. Just give me a chance to explain.” There was a trace of urgency in his voice, like he desperately needed me to listen.
