 I hadn’t seen my mother talk about anyone the way she talked about Rosaline in a long time. She talked about her with so much intrigue in a way that showed how badly she wanted this marriage between us. Too bad the feeling wasn’t mutual. I was still uninterested in everything she had to say about her. 

 I wasn’t the type to enter commitments just because of the perks or financial gain involved. The last thing I wanted was to be forced into something as serious and binding as marriage with someone I harboured no feelings for all because of the financial benefits it provided.
