Chapter 9. Eat Alone

Jessica suddenly laughed so loudly upon seeing Milena’s scared expression. She then shook her head.

“I’m just messing with you. But yeah, remember what I told you. It’s still better to be careful, right?” Jessica asked. “Especially now that everyone knows you’re the new Luna of the pack. Your life will be at risk as the enemies will see you as the Alpha’s weakness from now on.”

Milena just nodded her head, still unable to believe what Jessica told her. But then she realized that Jessica was right. They wouldn’t know what was coming in the future. It’s better to be prepared for the worst.

“Anyway, enough of this. Just study these books and I’ll come back some other time. I know you’re still tired from your wedding ceremony, Luna. I just came here for a quick visit,” Jessica suddenly said.

“Okay. Thanks for visiting,” Milena replied weakly and smiled.
