The food court buzzed with people, bright lights, and nonstop noise. Jessie and Tessa sat next to me with a huge pile of fries and a burger, but I had no appetite. I couldn't bring myself to take a single bite.

Two of Marcus's warriors stood nearby, silent and still, keeping watch while Marcus and Liam dealt with the bloody mess in the security office.
