“If you really like it, then keep it. When you’re not around, I’ll help take care of it,” Charlotte Hooper finally relented, realizing she’d been a bit old-fashioned. What Cassandra Taylor said actually made a lot of sense.

There was a small cardboard box in the room. Cassandra laid a soft blanket inside and gently placed the little kitten down.

“Alright, let’s head downstairs. I wanna see how Dad plans to deal with Vera.”

As Cassandra reached the top of the stairs, she noticed something unusual—the living room was eerily quiet.
