“Yeah, I’ve thought it through.” Clara Dawson glanced around the room, her tone firm. “Ethan and I are getting married, but we’re not doing a wedding. Just signing the papers is enough for me.”

Vincent King’s face tightened a little. “Is that your idea or his?”

“It’s mine.” Clara’s voice didn’t waver. “Ethan’s been trying to convince me to have one, but I don’t see the point. I don’t need all that ceremony stuff. I just want a simple life with him.”

“Clara, you only get married once. Are you really okay with skipping the ceremony?” Lilah Hart looked surprised.

Sure, Ethan’s parents weren’t around and Clara only had her dad, but throwing a small wedding would’ve been doable. Wasn’t she worried she might regret not doing it?

“This is something I’ve thought long and hard about. I won’t regret it,” Clara said. For someone who looked so gentle, she could be surprisingly stubborn.
