“Lilah’s a kind soul.”

Gabriel Wallace didn’t even have to think—he just said it, calm and sure.

That one short sentence hit Damien Hart hard.

“I know what I need to do now.”

With that, Damien got up and left.

By the time Gabriel got back home, Mr. and Mrs. Thornton had already headed out.
