Chapter 146

I began shaking before I knew it, fresh tears gathering at the edge of my eyes.

"You don't have to worry, it's not too deep. I just have to take you to the Pack house quickly so you can be safe before I deal with this bastard. I won't show him mercy this time for making an attempt on the love of my life." Zephyr assured me and took me in a hug, patting my back soothingly.

We detached from the hug and looked to where Ruben was formerly laying, he was nowhere to be found and I could feel my adrenaline rush. 

"Evelyn!" Zephyr called suddenly, making my heart nearly leap out of my chest. Before I have time to wonder what might be going on, he grabs a hold of my wrist and crashes my body against his in a hug, instantly turning us around and switching our position and barely a few seconds later, I hear a sick sound of metal digging into flesh. I immediately feel nauseous as the vomit quickly rushes up my throat but I manage to hold it back.
