And now during his interactions with her, I noticed he made a point to be gentle and include her in every conversation. I hoped his turnaround hadn't been solely related to the fact that she was my mate. I hoped he'd genuinely changed and matured. I thought he had. I'd seen significant differences in the way that he viewed things and handled problems. And he hadn't tried to lie or diminish his responsibility for his past actions. He'd owned up to his behavior.
