Alison’s POV
I was surrounded by shadows, the dense woods stretching endlessly around me. The towering trees swayed ominously, their skeletal branches reaching out as though trying to ensnare me. The air was thick, suffocating, and a faint rustling echoed in the distance. My heartbeat thundered in my ears, loud and fast, as if my body instinctively knew something I didn’t.
I turned in every direction, but I saw no one. Yet, I could feel the presence, someone or something was watching me. My voice wavered as I called out, “Who’s there?”
For a moment, silence answered me. Then, a low, melodic voice, dripping with authority, came from behind. “Look behind you.”
