Chapter 69. Love and Growth

Holly buries her head against Nolan his wide shoulders. His strong arms hold her in a tight embrace and for a while, they just stay like that. She feels calm and relieved because the distance between them was dreadful. Nolan softly puts her down and takes her face in his hands.

His ember eyes look at her warmly, “Zeus told me what you did. I am so proud of you Holly. How do you feel?”

Holly gives him a little smile, “I feel calm, hopeful, and ready to move on towards a better future.”

A shimmer of hope sparks in Nolan his face when he hears her words and he replies, “Why did you decide to face your fears after all this time?”

Holly softly strokes his face, “I think I realized that I needed it for me but also for us. The thought of losing you was much scarier than the thought of facing my demons. I love you, Nolan. We are meant for each other and you deserved the full version of me, not just the broken parts.”
