My friends and I slept in my room, putting one of the inflatable mattresses near the window for Anne, while the other was still being occupied by Miguel downstairs. Zylah, still stunned by whatever the discomfort of her body, made no objection to sleeping in bed with me. Anne even tried to joke a little saying that Miguel was too handsome to be just my friend, but no one was in a lot of mood that night, and she was the first to sleep.

I had great difficulty trying to sleep. I felt like I had eaten something indigestible, but the dinner with Bolognese pasta was not responsible for that bad feeling in the mouth of my stomach. I kept looking at Anne while she slept, wondering if I should really be suspicious of the way we were taken into each other's life. Miguel's suspicions didn't make sense.
