Blair’s POV
A welcoming committee awaited us at our first stop. Two men and a woman in suits were flanked by three imposing figures, each bearing a prominent security badge. As we approached, a woman detached herself from the group.
The slow, perusing smile she gave Ronnell was on direct contradiction to the professional handshake she offered. He took her hand in his, cupping it with his other. His eyes crinkled at the corners. “It’s good to see you, Zelda.”
She leaned in, her red lips glistening. “It’s really good to see you, Ron. It’s been too long.”
