“What?!” I snapped, struggling to free myself from the bind.
I ignored uncle Pete's disproving stare.
Jared, on the other hand, looked like he had just been dealt a serious blow. It was a mixture of shock and disbelief. “What are you saying? What is she saying, uncle Pete?”
The older man heaved a sigh, pinched the area between his brows and plopped into a chair. “I did not want you to find out that way but here we go...”
