Chapter 28. Husband-to-Be
Bushra arrived home later that night and met the entire house members in the living room. They all looked upset, especially her mother. Her father tensed up when she walked in, and she knew something was not right.
“Where were you?” Baba asked her in a strict, heated tone. Bushra took a few steps back, afraid things might get uglier if she stood too close to him.
“I said, where were you? I know you should be home from work before 6 p.m. But now, what does the time say? It’s 9 p.m., and you’re just coming back into my house. As a lady, you must be out of your mind,” he said, his anger evident from his loud voice and shaking hands.
