She was standing in the doorway, arms crossed, face unreadable.

Not shocked.

Not running.

Just watching.

Elena scrambled, yanking the sheet up to cover herself, voice shaking.

“Bernice, it’s not what you think…”

Bernice’s eyes flicked from Elena to me, then back.

“So you’re fucking my sister too?” she asked, voice calm, too calm.

Elena went pale.

“Too?” she repeated, sitting up fast, clutching the sheet to her chest. “Is he fucking you too? Alex, are you fucking Bernice too?”

Her voice cracked on the last word, anger and betrayal mixing with the flush still on her cheeks from what we’d just done.

I sat up, breathing hard, no shirt, sweat on my skin.

Bernice stepped into the room, closed the door behind her with a soft click.

She looked at me, eyes dark, lips curved in that familiar teasing smile.

Then at Elena.

“Yeah,” she said simply. “He is.”

Elena’s mouth opened. Closed.
