I stayed at the window long after his car disappeared, naked, skin still tingling from his teeth and hands, the taste of him lingering on my tongue.
The morning air slipped through the cracked pane and kissed the bruises blooming across my hips, my breasts, my throat. I felt marked. Owned. Victorious.
I finally moved when the chill raised goosebumps on my arms.
I padded downstairs, poured cold coffee from last night’s pot, and drank it black while leaning against the counter, replaying every second, the way he’d snarled devil like it was a prayer, the way his composure had shattered the moment he was inside me again, the way he’d stared at himself in the mirror like he didn’t recognize the man fucking me raw.
I smiled into the mug.
He was mine now, whether he admitted it or not.
My phone buzzed on the counter.

finally free.
