Chapter 141

Briar’s POV

"Together," I repeated, feeling my mates move into formation around me. Kai to my right, Kylan to my left, Kieran at my back. The way we’d fought a hundred times before, but this time felt different.

It felt like the last battle. The one where we would actually see fruition.

Malachar’s expression shifted from anger to something almost like respect. "So you’ve chosen the hard way. I can appreciate that, at least. Our father would be proud."

"Our father was a monster," I said again. "And I’m done letting his legacy dictate my choices."

"Then let’s see if your choices can stand against centuries of planning," Malachar replied, dark magic erupting around him like a storm.

The battle that followed was unlike anything I’d experienced, even with the crown’s power. Malachar fought with the desperation of someone who’d sacrificed everything for this moment, and he wasn’t holding back.
