"And, you know, when Kat was joining me to play at Johnny's, I thought it really was only fair that she should have a boyfriend, too," Jess said. Boyfriend rang in my ears. "This is Bryce. Bryce, this is John. He's going to just be watching today." There was a note of feigned pity in her voice.
