Chapter 62. Estella and Stefan

Stefan’s POV

“I just wanted to apologize,” I say to Estella as she prepares everything perfectly for the spell she and the other witches will have to perform tomorrow. Her cloaking spell expires tomorrow, and she can very well perform another one, but wasting time and letting Silas rule for longer is out of the option. We haven’t had enough time to prepare, and we all know we are not collectively stronger than Silas, but we can be smarter than him.

We can outplay his intelligence and win.

“Apologize for what?” Estella says, ignoring me as she shoves some herbs aggressively into a bag. Wow. I know people can’t be turned into frogs, but it really feels like that’s what she wants to do to me right now.

“For kissing you. I shouldn’t..” I trail off. “It was a mistake.” She stops what she’s doing and scowls at me. Shit. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
