I remain mute in reaction to his words. He did not get any communication from me until we got to our residence. When he wanted to take the kid in my arms, it was I who escorted him inside. I didn't even look at him as I came into our bedroom. At the moment, it seemed as if everything had altered in the stillness, as if we had lost a year due to the house's peculiar gloom.
