Liam's POV

I gritted my teeth and a growl escaped my lips. How could she do this to me? How could she make me feel this betrayed? She’s turned me into something I never wanted to be. Maybe this is who I am. Maybe she just brought it out of me.

I opened my eyes and stared up at the ceiling. I felt something cold settle over me, a realization that made my blood turn to ice. What if she’s not worth fighting for?

What if she never was?

The thought hit me like a punch to the gut. What was I thinking? I’ve spent so much time trying to prove myself to her and trying to be good enough. I've been strong enough and worthy enough. But now, I wonder if I’ve been wasting my time.

I wonder if she’s ever really seen me at all.

I leaned my head back. My eyes were stinging. I didn't want to care. I didn't want to feel this way. I wanted to be angry and to be furious. I needed to let the hatred burn through me until there was nothing left.
