Maxine’s POV

The days after that, I spent most of them with Ronan. I was trying all possible ways to take my mind off the fact that we were carrying the plan in three days.

But, I felt like I was lying to myself.

I wanted to enjoy the final moments I was having with Ronan. I wore the ring he gave me. It sat there on my middle finger while he kissed me or talked about a future where we would be together.

It was weird coming from Ronan. Gone was the cold Alpha, now he was replaced by this warm man who talked about a future, who even hinted at raising kids.
