It wasn’t time for the Q&A session yet, but one reporter stood up and interrupted rudely, clearly unimpressed.

Hazel paused, her gaze shifting to the reporter with a smile. Yet, the meaning behind that smile was impossible to decipher.

Damon, however, understood it perfectly. Back when Hazel lived with him, she would use that exact expression whenever she felt speechless.

The difference was, at the time, he had no idea she was capable of so much. If he’d known, he wouldn’t have let Delilah’s petty manipulations cloud his judgment.

Who knows? Maybe he’d still have Hazel by his side today.

“May I ask which media outlet you’re with?”

Before Hazel could respond, Eddie spoke up, his tone sharp. No one had ever dared to speak to their boss like that, let alone in front of such a crowd.
