Chapter 49

“Marcus? You’re here?” Anastasia questioned in disbelief. She couldn’t believe it. Why was he here? He should be locked up in a dungeon far away from her. Far away from her father. This wasn't the time to make a scene.

“Missed me?” he asked, acting as if nothing happened and being here in front of her was absolutely normal.

“But yo-you’re not supposed to be here," she reasoned. "You’re supposed to be locked up.”

“Time flies fast, sweet Luna, and things have changed. You better keep up.”

Just then, Marcus took a step forward, planning to enter her home. But she wouldn't let him. Having no choice, Anastasia quickly closed the door in front of his face, hitting him by the arm. She hurriedly rushed towards her father in the kitchen.

“Papa, call 911! Quickly!”

He stood up with a worried face. “Why? What happened?”
