I plastered on a nod so nonchalant you’d think I’d been born knowing an ocean of spiced-up shifter lore. Which, trust me, I wasn’t—processing that Melanie chose me as her mate still felt like trying to swallow a whale in one gulp. I could literally feel my wolf grinning on the inside, claws tapping against my spine, eager to pounce on her and establish the most epic dogpile of soulmate bonding ever.
