Melanie’s POV
I pressed my forehead against Asher’s chest, heart ticking louder than the bass from our neighbor’s late-night party. After a few minutes of blissful silence, I lifted my head and, in my best seductive whisper, admitted, “I’m not on birth control.”
He paused mid-breath, then murmured, “There are condoms in my closet somewhere, if you want to use them.”
My insides did a backflip. Condoms? Really? In this perfect moment? I loved the guy—but as far as I was concerned, condoms were denying destiny.
