When Emerald woke up, she saw Patrick’s handsome face beside her. When she reached out her hand to touch his eyebrows, his eyes suddenly opened.

“When you were asleep, I fed him once. Then he slept again.” Patrick’s voice was flat.

Emerald couldn’t imagine what it was like when Patrick held the baby and fed him, but he really did it.
