Chapter 39. An Old Witch
Cristelle hung up the phone as she carried the little girl, pulling at the boy’s hand, “I just called Drew and told him that we’re leaving our house now. He said he was preparing a big meal for us. We can eat it when we make it there.”
Drew had also told her that he had something really important to tell her. He had said that she shouldn’t be late, and his tone had been pretty serious.
Cristelle only thought of Candace. Did he find a new way to treat Candace?
Cristelle took the babies out of the house, waiting for the bus.
However, a black car suddenly pulled up on the driveway when they walked across the lane.
The car window was rolled down, revealing Mrs. Barnett’s well-maintained face. She saw that Cristelle’s children were scared.
She didn’t expect the babies to be so cute.
“Cristelle, we need to talk,” she snapped coldly.
Cristelle rolled her eyes, walking away with her babies.
