If Adrienne were anyone else, Pedro would have been infuriated. He had no tolerance for employees who frequently fell ill or caused delays in their work. Sickness was not to be brought into the office, and he despised employees who appeared paralyzed by their ailments.

However, Adrienne was an exception. She had been his dedicated secretary for a significant period of time, rarely taking a day off. In fact, she had only been absent from work a couple of times in the past ten years. As a result, Pedro decided to let it slide this time.
