Dr. May lifted the tiny, wailing bundle into the air. “It’s a boy.”

Kaelan jumped to his feet and kissed me on my lips. Then his eyes locked onto our son, and his face softened in a way I had never seen before. “Give him to me.”

Dr. May quickly cleaned the baby before wrapping him in a soft cloth and placing him in Kaelan’s arms.

I watched as my fierce Alpha, my ruthless warrior, held our son with the gentlest touch.

“He’s perfect,” Kaelan murmured, his voice thick with emotion. He turned to me, his silver eyes glowing. “Everly, look at him.”

I reached out, my fingers brushing against our baby’s soft cheek. Tears filled my eyes. “He is beautiful.”

Kaelan bent down, and pressed a kiss to my forehead before whispering, “His name is Maxine.”

I blinked up at him, surprised. “Maxine?”

Kaelan nodded, but he didn’t take his eyes off our son. “It means ‘greatest.’ Because that’s what he will be.”
