6 months later

“What are we doing here?”

He put the truck in park and stared at me. “You’ve got a date,” he smiled.

I chuckled. “We have a date?”

“No, just you. I’ll be at the bar two blocks away.”

This was suspicious. Marcel told me he had a surprise for me. His instructions were for me to get in the car and trust him. Matteo was with Aunt Olga. She was more than happy to spend the day with him.

“What are you up to? I’m not sure about this surprise, Marcel.”

“You’ll be fine.” He popped open the driver’s door.
