Chapter 78. Blinded Reality

Xavier pull his hand away from Mia’s temple and she gasped and stumbled back from him. She stared at Xavier, her heart pounding loudly in her chest.

She immediately felt remorseful having realised the truth, which she didn’t see. She had thought the worse of him these past few days when what he did was protect her from danger.

He didn’t kill those men in cold blood as she had initially thought. He killed them because they were on a mission. A mission to kill her and she had thought they were commoners travelling who lost their ways, but she was wrong.
