Chapter 37

“Where did you learn how to cook?” Emma asked Derek, sighing in satisfaction as she ate in relish, the last batch of the spaghetti on her plate.

She had watched in awe as he traipsed around the kitchen, putting things in order like he was born into it. He had also coached her, as he did the cooking. And now, munching the last of the spaghetti on her plate, she concluded that she preferred his cooking to Clem’s; maybe because he was boyfriend. She didn’t care though.

“From my mother.” Derek replied, smiling as he watched his mate gobble up the food he had cooked some minutes ago. She hadn’t even waited for the food’s temperature to go down after its preparation, before asking him to dish out some for her.

He was happy that she enjoyed his cooking. He felt like he was over the moon and withheld himself from beating his chest as the myriad of emotions enveloped him.
