Chapter 121. Unexpected Events

Abigail’s POV

“Any news?” I asked Alpha Maxwell as he left the infirmary, looking around his giant form, catching a glimpse of Jason on a bed, blood coating the sheets. Maxwell firmly closed the door behind him, telling me with a firm stare that I was not permitted to enter the room.

“No.” he snapped, pulling on my elbow roughly and dragging me down the hallway. Mia, his Luna and Jason’s mother screamed after him, but I could tell by the tension in his wrist that he was no longer listening; he was beyond sense and reason. Yanking me into an office, his hand slamming against a metal panel, a loud beep indicating he had been granted admittance, the wall in front of us opened, and the distinct smell of fear and death assaulted my nostrils.
