It’s been three days since Bella slipped into a coma, and she still hasn’t opened her eyes. The strange part is, I’m worried. Deeply worried. I thought I’d want her gone, that I’d feel nothing but satisfaction, but instead, I find myself watching her chest rise and fall, afraid it might stop. The doctor says she’ll live, that it’s just a matter of time.
