Chapter 24. Aftermath
It wasn’t until the second day that Geneva felt like she would be okay. The past three days had been torturous, and she swore never to pass through heat ever again.
She remembered cussing everyone out and was glad that Lily, Elena and Emily stayed by her side and didn’t get angry with all the foul words she spewed as a result of the pain.
She sat upright on her bed and stretched, wincing at the loud cracks from her joints as a result of lying down for the past two days.
Geneva felt like she had been run over by a truck. All the muscles in her joints were aching, and her energy was drained.
She eyed the bathroom door in scepticism, wondering how she was going to make it there, where she could barely move. The heat was over, but she had yet to regain her strength.
Geneva stood up and held on to the wall as she became dizzy with each movement. She felt like an invalid, and it made her angry.
