Chapter 16. The Bond Deepens

Ella’s laughter filled the air, soft and melodic, a sound Damian was slowly becoming addicted to. Her eyes sparkled with joy as she watched the pups chase each other around the clearing, their playful growls echoing around them.

Damian watched her from the shadows, his heart twisting as he saw the way she smiled, the way her eyes crinkled, the way she seemed so… free.

She had changed so much since she first arrived. Her once frail body had grown stronger, her shoulders no longer hunched, her eyes no longer filled with fear. She was blooming, finding herself, embracing the light.

His chest tightened, warmth spreading through him as he watched her, his wolf pacing restlessly within him. There was something about her… something he couldn’t resist.

She was captivating… enchanting… and she was his.

Thank goodness, he decided to believe her and not his rival seemly cooked up lies… Ella is too kind to be a murderer… At least, from what he knows about her now…<
