Chapter 65. I'Il Protect You

As Racheal progressed with her story, it became more difficult to speak. Her throat was clogged with tears, so she left out the part of the story where her step-mother used to starve her.

She walked away when she was done, changed into a nightdress in the closet, and climbed into bed. 

A few minutes later, Steffan climbed in beside her and carressed her hair.

“Don’t cry.” He said. His gentle tone made her cry even more, and it irritated her. 

How did she suddenly become this sobbing mess? 

He did not pull her close like last night, instead he rested his chin against her hair, till she quieted down.
