Chapter 106

Diana’s POV

A machine. The first sound I woke up to was the sound of a medical monitor. I figured it was because I was in a hospital. That and because I felt some sheets under me and the first thing I saw was white.

“Ma’am? You’re awake,” a worried voice nearby sounded.

It was a nurse. She hurried towards me and started stroking my head.

My throat still hurt but I tried to speak, “H-how?”

“How did you get here? Someone brought you here. So far, you’re alright. No major injuries or burns. How’s your throat?”

I just nodded, saving my voice only for critical inquiries.

“H-how long?”

“Were you out? Well, since you got here from the hospital… just about half an hour.”

I smiled and sat up. The nurse helped me. Suddenly, I saw a familiar face enter the room, looking all worried.

The nurse spoke up.

“She’s the one who brought you here. I’ll let you two talk for a bit. We’ll do one last round of checkup then you’re good
