Chapter 12. The Silver Lining

Running fast, Amy didn’t pay attention to anything else. Her only intention was to leave the apartment as soon as possible. With so many things happening all at once, finding out that Jacob wanted to end their relationship while he was still sweet with her hurt her a lot.

She almost bumped into a few people who wanted to enter the apartment. After saying her apologies, Amy ran again. She was too absorbed in her pain and heartache until she didn’t notice that she passed the street already. Running as fast as she could, Amy tried to numb her feelings.

Money … Jacob tried to buy her understanding through money. She sobbed and laughed, and didn’t care that some passengers on the pavement gawked at her. When she crossed the street carelessly, a car almost hit her. Fortunately, the driver could hit the brake pedal. The car stopped right away, and the driver got out of the car.

“Hey, miss, if you want to die, don’t do it here!” the driver yelled at Amy.
