The stores in Wailea were quite upscale, but Nathan wanted me to spend money, and that I did. I ended up getting us all matching gold bracelets with blue opal sea turtles and plumeria on them to commemorate our trip. Madison was so shocked and happy to be included. She seemed to get along with our group when the girls finally warmed up to her.

We hit several more high-end stores and then headed on to Lahaina. I had read so much about the devastating fires that had hit Lahaina a few years back. Most of Lahaina is still closed because they are doing repairs and allowing people to recover from such a tragic event. Only the north end has slowly opened a few stores. Koa told us how he had lost a few family members in the fires, and my heart bled for him. I know how tragic it can be to lose those close to you.
