The next day, Lani was eager to go out and meet Aurora early in the morning. Kane, who was cooking breakfast in the kitchen, was surprised to see Lani dressed up and heading downstairs.
“Where are you going? Have breakfast first,” Kane said as he placed two plates of sandwiches on the table. Lani sat down at the table, grabbed a sandwich, and glared at Kane with annoyance.
“I’m going to meet a young, gentleman. I’m afraid if I stay home, you’ll pin me down on the bed and do something inappropriate,” Lani emphasized the last part, looking at Kane. Kane chuckled and poured a glass of milk for Lani.
“Oh, a young, gentleman? Is he healthy?” Kane teased.
“A gentleman who’s weak and frail, as skinny as a stick, can’t satisfy you as I can,” Lani retorted, knowing Kane was deliberately provoking her. She took a big bite of her sandwich and chewed it angrily.
