“Do you want to shower on your own, or should I carry you to the bathroom?” Kane remained beside Lani, affectionately stroking her hair and caressing her face to help her calm down. Lani continued to breathe heavily, adjusting her breathing after their intimacy.

Perhaps she was still upset as she had asked Kane to stop, and he hadn’t paid attention.
