Chapter 68

One word came out of Edrik's mouth when he saw Vanya entering. The girl looked tense as it was her first time entering Edrik's office outside of office hours.

"I want to apologize. And it feels quite difficult for me to convey all of this," Edrik said.

Vanya froze. Just seeing Edrik's tense expression made her heart feel like it was about to jump out of her chest. Now, an apology was thrown in as well. It's no wonder all of Vanya's vital organs stopped working.

"I-I'm sorry, Sir. I... I don't understand your words. What are you apologizing for?" Vanya finally managed to speak, the suspense taking a while.

Waiting for Edrik to finish his statement, but it didn't seem to happen as he took a deep breath instead. He glanced at the clock hanging on the wall and tapped his desk with his index finger.

"Sir, I...," Vanya tried to speak again.

"Just wait a moment!" Edrik raised one hand, interrupting Vanya when he heard his phone ringing.
