"The doctor said you're not allowed to leave yet. You have to stay overnight." Sherena adjusted the blanket covering Lucy, holding back the tightness in her chest. The unpleasant departure from Edrik had caused aching all over her body. Sherena couldn't stop crying during the journey to the clinic. But as soon as she reached Lucy's hospital room, she forced herself to stop the tears. She swallowed them down so Lucy wouldn't see how much pain she was in right now. The pain of leaving Edrik so abruptly, despite him being her husband, not just a boyfriend whose relationship could be ended and forgotten.
